Jun Lofamia has been a perpetual fixture
on the pages of Liwayway Magazine for the past 5 decades. Pick up any issue
of the weekly magazine at any point from the 1960's to the present and
you will be treated to at least a few minor masterpieces by this remarkably
prolific artist.
Comfortable both as a painter and a comics
illustrator, Jun's most visible work has been to provide spot color illustrations
that accompany the short stories in Liwayway. Because of the technologies
in printing that has become available in recent years, Jun has begun rendering
his illustrations in beautiful watercolor. Ocassionally, he would
contribute his pen to illustrate various comics serials in the magazine
as well, including Piolo and Lorelei, written by RR Marcelino and currently
Fantastik Jeep, written by John Anthony Singson.
Jun has also contributed to numerous publications
in the US including Creepy, Eerie (Warren), Ghosts, House of Mystery, Secrets
of Haunted House (DC) and adaptations of classic stories like Hunchback
of Notre Dame and A Christmas Carol.
