Illustration of Lapu Lapu, the first Philippine hero, is one of the most
popular illustrations by Coching. Coching wrote and drew a Lapu Lapu
komiks novel in 1955 which was eventually made into a movie
in 1955 by LVN Pictures starring Mario Montenegro, Delia Razon, Priscilla
Cellona.
This illustration, which Coching drew in the year he retired, was eventully used in a stamp released by the Philippine Postal Corporation in November, 2004.
